If the Ravens don't re-sign recently released Derrick Mason, here's the top 10 unrestricted free-agent wide receivers:

1. Santonio Holmes, N.Y. Jets: Clutch receiver who is dangerous after the catch. Has consistently tormented the Ravens' secondary.

2. Sidney Rice, Minnesota: Prototypical deep-threat ... when healthy. Missed first 10 games last season.

3. Steve Smith, N.Y. Giants: Excellent route-runner who steps up on third downs. But knee surgery could force him to start season on PUP.

4. Braylon Edwards, N.Y. Jets: Potential to be a top-tier No. 1 receiver has always been stunted by inconsistent hands. He can make the unbelievable catch and drop the easy throws.

5. Malcom Floyd, San Diego: Some would argue this is too high on the list for Floyd. But he's a 6-5 receiver who has averaged 17.3 yards per catch for his career.

The rest

6. Plaxico Burress, N.Y. Giants

7. Randy Moss, Tennessee

8. Lance Moore, New Orleans

9. Mike Sims-Walker, Jacksonville

10. James Jones, Green Bay

Note: Carolina's Steve Smith, who reportedly wants to play for the Ravens or San Diego, is under contract for two more seasons. The Ravens would have to trade to acquire him.
