Many Ravens fans wanted the team to sign Santonio Holmes, one of the top free-agent wide receivers available. Well, the worst-case scenario happened -- Holmes agreed to stay with the New York Jets for a five-year deal Wednesday.
Holmes has hurt the Ravens tremendously over the past four seasons, scoring a touchdown in seven straight games against them.
He missed last season's opener against the Ravens because of a four-game suspension. But barring injury, he will suit up against the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Oct. 2.
