Webb isn't giving his jersey number to J.Smith

Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb said he won't give his uniform number to first-round cornerback Jimmy Smith and will remain No. 21 this season.

"I'm keeping my number Tweople!," Webb posted on his Twitter account Wednesday. "It's not even about the money!"

In a recent interview on FoxSports.com, Smith said the Ravens gave him No. 22 but wanted Webb's number. Smith even talked about buying it from Webb for $10,000.After Webb informed fans that he would keep the number, he made it clear that he wasn't angered by Smith's attempt.

Webb tweeted, "Please no one get my tweets confused! Me and Jimmy are [going] to be a beast together along with [Domonique Foxworth] and the others. He [just] won't be in 21!"

Smith said fans shouldn't take the back-and-forth banter out of context, describing it as a light-hearted conversation.

"I'm wearing 22," Smith tweeted.
