Pets of Orioles ready for their closeups

The last couple of years the Baltimore Orioles have put out a pet calendar that helps raise money for a local shelter. It's usually a sell out.

This year we're getting a heads up about who will be appearing in the new one -- and with what sort of animal. When it comes out, the $15 calendar will benefit the Baltimore Animal and Rescue Care Shelter (BARCS).

The shoot is happing today at Camden Yards.  Players will be photographed with their own pets -- or if they don't have them, with "loaners" from BARCS.

Here is some of the lineup:

Manager Buck Showalter with his four Bassett hounds -- Sader, Webster, Jasper and Opie!

Matt Wieters with his rescued German Shepherd named Millie AND his two rescued kitties, Omaha and Ducky. (Aw!)

Brad Bergensen with Ernie, his Puggle.

Brian Roberts with Rocky, his English Bulldog.

Nick Markakis with his blue Weimaraner named Riley and Tabby, his rescued Yorkie-Poo.

And that's just for starters.

Kevin Gregg, JJ Hardy, Koji Uehara, Zach Britton, Mark Reynolds and Jeremie Guthrie are supposed to be photographed with BARCS adoptable animals. (Remember the scare a couple of years ago with Koji's calendar dog?)

I can't wait to see the results!
