As informal workouts go in the year of the lockout, the Ravens' Tuesday session was uneventful -- and that was good. No injuries, no mishaps, but a lot of no shows, among them first-round draft pick Jimmy Smith.
"That's a red flag," said former Redskins GM Vinny Cerrato, who had a radio show on 105.7 FM. "He should have been here."
Torrey Smith, the team's second-round pick, said Jimmy was still in Los Angeles. The reason he didn't come? He was told defensive backs weren't going to participate.
But three defensive backs were at Towson for the workout. Josh Wilson, an unrestricted free agent, came even though he isn't technically a Raven. Domonique Foxworth came and tested his surgically-repaired knee. And safety Haruki Nakamura worked out, too.
Draft picks who did show: Wide receivers Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss, quarterback Tyrod Taylor and running back Anthony Allen.
There were 15 offensive players on hand, nine defensive players and the three primary specialists for a total of 27.
Here's the breakdown:
Quarterbacks: Joe Flacco, Hunter Cantwell and Taylor.
Running backs: Ray Rice, Matt Lawrence, Allen and Walter Sanders (St. Augustine).
Wide receivers: Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason, James Hardy, Justin Harper, Smith and Doss.
Tight ends: Dennis Pitta and Devon Drew.
Defensive linemen: Cory Redding, Lamar Divens, Brandon McKinney and Arthur Jones.
Linebackers: Jarret Johnson and Jameel McClain.
Defensive backs: Foxworth, Wilson and Nakamura.
