Continuing to get an up-close look at the draft's top pass rushers, the Ravens reportedly will meet with Georgia outside linebacker Justin Houston on March 21, a day before his pro day.
Rated as the third-best outside linebacker prospect by Pro Football Weekly, Houston recorded 17 ½ sacks in his past two seasons, including 10 last season (which ranked second in the SEC).
While many of this year's pass rushers would have to convert from defensive end to linebacker in the NFL, Houston worked as a stand-up pass rusher last season when Georgia switched to a 3-4 defense in 2010.
His versatility is one of the reasons why he is considered a first-round talent. The biggest knocks on Houston is his lack of elite speed and inconsistent motor. He also a character issue – Houston was suspended in May 2009 for reportedly violating university substance abuse policy.
The Ravens are also meeting with Purdue's Ryan Kerrigan next week.
