Greivis Vasquez returned and seemed appropriately emotional about being honored at Comcast Center today before the N.C. State game.
Vasquez on having his number hanging from rafters. "I used to look up and see all those guys. Now I'm one of them."
Vasquez clapped his hands, pumped his fist and was just ... Vasquez.
Vasquez's personality always seems to fit college better than the NBA because he is so loyal and passionate. He seems nostalgic for college, almost wistful. "It's more business than anything else," he said of NBA life with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Ever optimistic, he said Maryland could run the table and win its last five regular-season games.
"They've got a pretty good chance to win all of them," Vasquez said. "I think we can beat UNC at UNC anytime."
