Chiefs helped Cundiff to land with Ravens

Billy Cundiff is enjoying a Pro Bowl season with the Ravens, and the team can thank the Kansas City Chiefs in some ways.

In the 2009 draft, the Ravens were looking to sign kicker Ryan Succop as an undrafted free agent. But the Chiefs used the last pick of the entire draft on Succop, who became Mr. Irrelevant.

With Succop gone, the Ravens signed Graham Gano, who eventually lost the kicking job to Steve Hauschka before the season began. After Hauschka struggled, the Ravens replaced him with Cundiff.

Succop has made 20 of 26 field goals for the Chiefs (76.9 percent). Cundiff has converted 26 of 29 attempts (90 percent).
