Houston's Kubiak focused on Texans, not Broncos

With the Denver Broncos relieving Josh McDaniels of his head coaching duties on Monday, discussion over who would replace him for next season has been abundant.

Perhaps naturally, the tide of speculation has swept up Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, who spent nine seasons in Denver backing up John Elway and another 11 years as the organization's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

But Kubiak, who left the Broncos to become the head coach in Houston prior to the 2006 season, declined to get involved in that conversation. In comments distributed by the Texans Tuesday, Kubiak was asked if he had heard that he might be a candidate to succeed McDaniels.

"No. I've got enough problems right here," Kubiak replied.

Asked later if it was nice to hear a few fans in Denver lobbying for his return, Kubiak said, "Like I said, I've got enough things to worry about."
