It turns out some Orioles fans get to see exactly what they want: Derek Jeter in an Orioles uniform.
Well, sort of.
Beckett Media, an outlet that prices baseball cards, has posted on its blog pictures of the longtime (soon-to-be-former?) New York Yankees star decked out in the uniforms of all 30 major league teams.
At right is Jeter in the black and orange.
Jeter and the Yankees have what seems to be a monetary chasm between them in terms of what each believes is fair market value for the shortstop.
Is there any chance Jeter ends up playing for the Orioles? Probably not.
Is it entertaining to see what it would look like if he did? Most definitely.
Especially when Beckett has apparently superimposed a photo of Jeter's head onto current Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts' body. (In case the fact that the jersey Jeter is wearing on the card is Roberts' No. 1 while Jeter has always worn No. 2 for the Yankees wasn't enough to tip you off, please enjoy the obvious differences in the size of his head as compared with Roberts' much smaller body.)
Better print this one out and put it in a plastic protective sleeve, folks. It might be worth something someday -- I'm pretty sure it's the only chance you're going to have at seeing a Derek Jeter Orioles card.
