If you've ever watched Ravens punter Sam Koch out at training camp, you might have seen him messing around with his fellow special-teams specialists and throwing 50-yard spirals down the field. He got a chance to put his right arm to use in the third quarter against the Dolphins, and his impromptu 13-yard pass to Cary Williams on fourth down kept a drive alive.

Too bad Billy Cundiff missed a 37-yard field goal a few plays later.

Oh well. Mad props to Koch, who has a passer rating of 118.8 -- nearly 20 points fewer than Joe Flacco's passer rating of 137.3. Flacco is 16-of-22 for 234 yards and two touchdowns.

I guess they should keep Flacco under center in the fourth quarter after all.

Anyway, on Koch's completion, the Ravens lined up to punt the ball away near midfield. But when Koch saw that Williams was uncovered on the left side of the formation, he slung the ball out to Williams, who ran for the first down. Miami punt returner Davone Bess had been frantically trying to get the attention of his teammates, but no dice.

I can't wait to hear what the coaches and players -- and Koch -- have to say about this after the game. I wouldn't count on Koch mounting a Twitter campaign for more pass attempts, though.
