Mattison believes Ravens still have Rex Ryan's scheme

Under former defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, the Ravens prided themselves on "organized chaos" because of the exotic blitzes.

The perception of Greg Mattison, who is in his second year as defensive coordinator, is he prefers to rush four players and drop seven for maximum coverage.

But Mattison said his defense isn't much different than Ryan's one.

"Having been here with Rex, I was a part of that scheme," Mattison said Thursday. "I tend to believe that we still have that scheme. If you chart it and go through how many times we blitz, I don't know what the numbers are compared to then. The first thing and the only thing we'll ever do is do what I feel is best for this defense and gives us the best chance to win."
