Lewis, Ngata warrant mentions on Sunday morning shows

In the spirit of Halloween, ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown crew compiled its list of the league's top-10 scariest players currently playing.

Topping the list was the Ravens’ own Ray Lewis. He beat out Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick — all of whom rounded out the top five.

Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison was sixth, and Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was one spot behind. Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas, Chicago Bears return specialist Devin Hester and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady filled in the rest of the top 10.

And on the NFL Network's NFL Gameday Morning, each analyst was asked to rank their top five players of all time.

Hall of Famer and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin included Lewis at No. 4, putting him behind San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana and Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith.
