Maryland sophomore Jordan Williams has been named to the preseason Naismith Award watch list.

Williams, who was one of 50 players named to the list, leads the Terps in scoring average (21) and rebounds (13.7).

Williams was one of eight ACC players nominated for the award. The other nominees were:

Harrison Barnes (North Carolina, freshman, forward)

Malcolm Delaney (Virginia Tech, senior, guard)

Kyrie Irving (Duke, freshman, guard)

Kyle Singler (Duke, senior, forward)

Chris Singleton (Florida State, junior, forward)

Nolan Smith (Duke, senior, guard)

Tyler Zeller (North Carolina, junior, forward)

In addition to Delaney (Towson Catholic), two other Baltimore-area players were named to the Naismith watch list. Those players are:

Will Barton (Lake Clifton, Memphis, freshman guard)

Kim English (Randallstown, Missouri, junior, guard)
