Dolphins' Crowder on Rice, Flacco, "the old guy"

Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder was asked about the Ravens offense this week, which is noteworthy because he is the mastermind behind one of the most unbelievable quotes in sports history. Remember this?

And this guy went to college.

Hey, I'll at least give Crowder credit for being candid, which he was again when talking about the Ravens.

"They have an amazing running game, that's their thing," Crowder said. "Ray Rice is a great running back. Strong, you know, compact guy. … [Le'Ron] McClain is one of the best fullbacks in the NFL. They've got a strong offensive line."

The Dolphins are allowing 101.6 rushing yards per game, 11th-best in the NFL.

"They have amazing receivers on the outside," Crowder continued. "We know Boldin, Houshmandzadeh," which he pronounced "Hughsh-man-zadeh," "and old … what the hell's the other guy's name?"

"Derrick Mason," answered a reporter.

"There you go. Mason. The old guy," said Crowder, who has made 10 tackles in three games this season. "He's still good as hell, though."

Crowder was then asked about Joe Flacco, who beat the Dolphins twice in his rookie year.

"He doesn't make mistakes. He lets that run game set up his pass and his play-action stuff," he said. "He has a strong arm and he has great receivers catching the ball for him. … He's a solid guy, a young guy."
