Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain and Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, who made headlines last week for calling Derrick Mason "the old guy," got in an altercation during the third quarter of the Ravens' 26-10 win over the Dolphins. After the game, Crowder claimed McClain spit in his face, and called the Pro Bowl fullback a "bitch-ass punk," according to this report.
"That punk Le'Ron McClain spit in my face. Write that down," Crowder said. "He spit in my face. The referees told me they didn't see anything, but I know what he did, and so does he."
There was more to Crowder's rant, apparently, some of which I might not be able to post here. I'm desperately looking for a video of Crowder's bleeped-out comments, though, so if you find one somewhere, email the link to matt@bthesite.com and I'll throw it up on the blog ASAP.
Anyway, McClain denied Crowder's claim, telling reporters, "Nah, I didn't spit on him. That's crazy. That's not my game. I'm Le'Ron McClain, man. Le'Ron McClain don't spit on another player. But I will block you. Four quarters. That's a fact."
Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby called McClain a coward.
"Man, if I'd have seen that, there would have been a damn brawl out there, straight up," Dansby said. "We some tough guys. But if you take a cowardly way like that, you need to be straightened. Hopefully, Roger Goodell will look at the film and he'll do something about it. If he don't, we'll see him in the street and we'll have to handle it like men. But for you to spit in a man's face and walk away, that's a coward move."
And Mason had a parting shot for Crowder, saying that he is "horrible."
"Hopefully, after this game, he'll sit back and realize what type of player he truly is," Mason said. "He is not one of the elite players in the game."
Update: Here are more of Crowder's quotes, including a bizarre Anne Frank reference.
