FROM TODAY'S PRINT EDITIONS:
Warm and, in the end, very wet pretty much sums up our weather in September. Rainfall was running more than an inch behind the averages until the 6-inch deluge on the last day of the month. It was the wettest Sept. 30 and the wettest September day on record for Baltimore. Temperatures averaged 71 degrees. That’s 3.6 degrees above average, making it the fourth-warmest September in 30 years. Readings ranged from 47 on the 21st, to 95 three days later.
