I've got a lot on my plate today, with a pair of pointless productive meetings this afternoon, a Fantasy Fodder post to put together and a column to write for Thursday's b. I just finished up a feature on Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain, too, which you can read in next Wednesday's b if my editors think it's up to snuff.

Anyway, my inane blog posts will be at a minimum this afternoon, so I figured I'd condense a few random thoughts into one post. Try to stay with me, OK?

The Rangers are one win away from closing out the Yankees -- please pause for a moment of silence for the Bronx Bombers -- which means there's a decent chance the Orioles will end up being the transitive property World Series champions. Remember, the Orioles went 6-4 against the Rangers in 2010. They went 1-2 against the Giants and didn't play the Phillies, so you've got to root for the Rangers.

According to this AP report, Colts punter Pat McAfee was "arrested for public intoxication Wednesday after he reportedly took a pre-dawn swim in a canal in a nightlife district." I think we've all been there before.

The NFL is trying to crack down on headhunters. Peter Schmuck of The Baltimore Sun made some good points in this column, but I'm with Kevin Van Valkenburg: Good luck with that.

And here is a loud video for the Capitals fans (hat tip to D.C. Sports Bog) of Alex Ovechkin partying with DJ Tiesto over the weekend. So much for him not partying anymore.
