Gibson kicked from 'Hangover 2'

Nearly everyone (including me) thought it was a bad idea to cast Mel Gibson in a Mike Tyson-like cameo in "The Hangover 2." Someone close to series creator Todd Phillips, who thought "Mel would have been great in the movie," gave the director a reality check. He said Thursday that he realizes "filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew." So Mel was out. Internet speculation on the man who focused the rebellion has centered around Zach Galifianakis (left), who confessed on a Comedy Death Ray podcast, before the news of Gibson's casting broke, "I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something." Fighting for principles with the man who made him a break-out star -- if the story is true, it makes this stand-up comic one stand-up guy.
