You might not have known who Browns running back Peyton Hillis was before he rumbled for 144 yards against the Ravens, but that's understandable. The little-known former college fullback has carried the ball just 120 times in his three-year NFL career.
Now Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who is getting paid eight figures to sack quarterbacks and shut down running backs? He probably should have known at least a little something about Hillis before Sunday, right? (Especially since Suggs played against him a year ago when Hillis, acquired by the Browns in the offseason as part of the Brady Quinn deal, caught two passes for the Broncos in a 30-7 Ravens win.)
I think you know where this is going.
"Never heard of him before in my life," Suggs told the Dan Patrick Show on Monday. "I know who he is now."
Let's hope this was just Suggs being Suggs, and that he was playing it up for the microphone. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
