Original 'Girl with Dragon Tattoo' enters 'Sherlock Holmes 2'

Tucked away in yesterday's stories that Stephen Fry would play the Great Detective's brother in "Sherlock Holmes 2" was the note that Noomi Rapace, who electrified audiences as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish movie versions of Stiegg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy, has been signed as the female lead in the Conan-Doyle-on-steroids franchise, starring Robert Downey Jr.'s Holmes.

With Rooney Mara playing Salander in David Fincher's English-language version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (Mara makes an instant great impression in Fincher's "The Social Network") and Rapace launching her English-language career in a high-profile project like "Sherlock Holmes 2," I'd guess zealous followers of Larsson's books and Rapace's "Girl" movies are now looking forward to a couple of big films. Tell me, Lisbeth-heads: are you?
