Nakamura gets attention in Japan

Ravens safety Haruki Nakamura will be the subject of a TV show in Japan this fall. Miyuki Iwasaki, a free-lance reporter who serves as director and editor for NHK-Japan television, visited the team's Owings Mills facility on Friday to interview Nakamura and prepare the show.

Nakamura is Japanese, although he was born in Elyria, Ohio. The third-year veteran is the Ravens' nickel back this season after playing most of his first two seasons on special teams. Nakamura broke his ankle on the opening kickoff of a Monday night game in Cleveland in November, but had a strong preseason to earn a spot in the team's nickel defense.

Miyuki, who lives and works out of Los Angeles, said she hoped that Nakamura would serve as a "bridge" to Japan for the NFL.
