Delhomme wearing boot, misses second straight practice

It's beginning to appear that the Cleveland Browns' chances of starting Jake Delhomme at quarterback in Sunday's game against the Ravens are sliding downhill with each passing day.

Delhomme did not practice for the second consecutive day and the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported Thursday morning that he is dealing with a high ankle sprain.

Browns coach Eric Mangini didn't mention a high ankle sprain during his comments to the Cleveland media Thursday morning, but he did concede that Delhomme is wearing a boot.

"He's in a boot while he's walking around," Mangini said in comments distributed by the team. "Then when he's doing other things, the rehab and stuff like that, we take him out. That's pretty common, it's not just him."

If Delhomme does not play, Seneca Wallace will make his second consecutive start at quarterback.
