The play of Cincinnati cornerbacks Leon Hall and Johnathan Joseph was the biggest reason the Ravens were swept by the Bengals in 2009. Hall, 25, and Joseph, 26, are one of the NFL's very best cornerback duos, and they shut down the Ravens' wide receivers in 2009.
In the teams' first meeting, Derrick Mason was held without a catch as the receivers hauled in just four passes from Joe Flacco in the 17-14 loss. Mason had three catches for 31 yards in the Bengals' 17-7 win a month later, but Mark Clayton and Kelley Washington had just one apiece.
The Ravens now have Anquan Boldin and former Bengal T.J. Houshmandzadeh on the roster, making today's task much more difficult for Hall and Joseph, the sixth and seventh best cornerbacks in the NFL, respectively, according to Scouts, Inc.
Here is part of Scouts, Inc.'s scouting report on Hall:
And here is the skinny on Joseph, according to Scouts, Inc.:
Adam "Pacman" Jones is the team's third cornerback, so keep an eye on him, too. He's got skills, but he has spent more time in strip clubs than NFL practice facilities over the past two years.
