That's better, Ravens offense

The Ravens went in reverse on their first drive against the Giants tonight as Joe Flacco threw two incompletions and was sacked once. The trend continued at the start of the next drive with Flacco getting sacked again on first down, but then the Ravens got in gear.

Flacco showed good mobility in escaping the Giants' pass rush and spread the ball around as the Ravens marched 62 yards in 13 plays to set up a Billy Cundiff field goal.

On 3rd and 11 early in the drive, Flacco connected with Anquan Boldin up the numbers for a 22-yard gain. He hit Derrick Mason once and Todd Heap twice, and scrambled 10 yards on a 3rd-and-3 play in Giants territory. The drive stalled when Flacco's pass on 3rd and Goal at the 6-yard line glanced off Mason's hands in the back of the end zone.

Still, it was a nice drive for the Ravens, especially when you consider that the offensive line did a shoddy job in pass protection. Kudos to Flacco, who was 5-for-8 for 57 yards on the drive.

Instant update: Flacco went 6-for-7 for 67 yards on the Ravens' third drive, which was capped off by a nine-yard touchdown pass to Boldin. The Ravens lead, 10-0.
