It would really help the Ravens if rookie Prince Miller, the cornerback out of Georgia, could become the team's top punt returner.
Miller showed some flash Thursday night against the Panthers. The Ravens currently have several others back there fielding punts, including safety Tom Zbikowski and receivers Mark Clayton and Donte Stallworth. Zbikowski seems like the best fit. He has good hands, makes quick decisions and runs straight and hard through the hole.
The problem with Zbikowski, as well as Clayton and Stallworth, is that they will make significant contributions on either offense and defense, so you don't want them out there on special teams risking further injury. That's why Miller could be very helpful if he steps up and takes the job.
• The Redsksins beat up on a sorry Buffalo team recently, but Washington was impressive compared to a year ago. The Redskins were excited and played very hard.
All of their schemes were sound and quarterback Donovan McNabb looked comfortable. It's amazing what a new and established coach like Mike Shanahan can bring to an organization, even one as lowly as the Redskins.
