My 2009 fantasy football hits and misses

I got a lot of things right in last year's fantasy football preview. But I had my fair share of screw-ups, too, which probably explains why I got shut out in my fantasy leagues in 2009. Let's recap:

Can I get some credit for?

1. Steering you clear of Kurt Warner, Matt Cassel and Jake Delhomme
2. Loving Brandon Marshall and DeSean Jackson and hating T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Antonio Bryant
3. Warning you (again) that Ronnie Brown is a perennial disappointment
4. Hyping tight ends Visanthe Shiancoe and Owen Daniels
5. Labeling the Jets D/ST as a sleeper

Can I take a mulligan for?

1. Anointing Matt Forte as my No. 2 running back (this should count as three items)

2. Overvaluing old backs such as Brian Westbrook, Clinton Portis and LaDainian Tomlinson

3. OK, pretty much all of my running back rankings were terrible, so let’s move on

4. Picking Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco — neither was a top-12 fantasy QB — as sleepers

5. Calling the Packers a bust and ranking them No. 22 on my D/ST list
