Kate Plus 8: Kafkaesque defense of kid work permits

The State of Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry defended the work permits it issued to the children of Kate Gosselin for TLC's "Kate Plus 8" show. But the answer that was sent sent to State Rep. Thomas Murt, who is fighting to referm child labor laws, comes direct from Planet Bizarro.

Here's the letter, the department sent to Murt. What it essentially says is that even though it appears that chidlren who are the age of the Gosslin sextuplets should not allowed to work in TV productions, they can work in films -- and TV is the same as film. It also says the current law is so complicated only the department of labor & industry can properly interpret it. Give my regards to Kafka.

Here's Murt's response sent in an email to the Sun: "I'm disappointed in this response," Rep. Tom Murt said.  "The law is apparently confusing and hard to interpret, all the more reason my bill must be passed."
