Ayanbadejo and Lawrence could move to Reserve PUP today

One way the Ravens can get down to the 75-player limit Tuesday is by moving linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo and running back Matt Lawrence from Active PUP (physically-unable-to-perform list) to Reserve PUP.

By doing that, Ayanbadejo and Lawrence wouldn't count on the roster because they would officially be out for at least the first six weeks of the regular season. After six weeks, the Ravens would have a two-week window to look at them in practice before deciding to add them to the 53-man roster, release them or put them on injured reserve.

The Ravens need to make two more moves to get down to the 75-player limit after cutting cornerback Doug Dutch and placing offensive lineman Daniel Sanders and defensive back Marcus Paschal on injured reserve.Ayanbadejo injured his quadriceps in October and has regained his lateral movement. His biggest problem is running straight ahead.

Lawrence injured his knee in late November. Like Ayanbadejo, he was a standout on special teams before getting sidelined.

The final major cutdown is Saturday, when the Ravens have to get their roster to 53 players.
