Tonight's game a challenge for Ravens' corners

The Ravens allowed 663 passing yards in their two preseason games against the Panthers and Redskins, and the team's pass defense will be challenged again tonight against the Giants.

The Giants have Eli Manning -- say what you want about Eli, but he's a Super Bowl champion -- and three talented, young receivers in Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham. They also have preseason hero Victor Cruz, an undrafted rookie from UMass that has made eight catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns in two exhibition games.

Lardarius Webb (knee) was scratched tonight, and Fabian Washington (knee) and Chris Carr (hammy) aren't at full strength. We know that those guys will make the 53-man roster, though. This is an opportunity for guys like Cary Williams, Travis Fisher, Doug Dutch and Prince Miller to impress the coaching staff.

I will be keeping an eye on Washington and Carr, though, to see how they're holding up. Washington was impressive last week in his return from a torn ACL, but he's got a way to go, and Chris Carr hasn't played much in the preseason.
