Last year, Green Cilantro replaced the Whistling Oyster. Now, the Whistling Oyster has replaced Green Cilantro.
Inside and out, the Whistling Oyster looks the same as it ever was. At least, the same as I remember it being.
There are life rings on the walls and ceiling and the old nautical theme throughout. Even the exterior is back to being black and red.
It's weird -- like nothing ever happened.
I've been keeping tabs on the Oyster, stopping by every time I hit up Fells. Last week was the first time I saw it open again ...
I stopped by last Friday evening for a beer and scanned the Oyster's selection of bottles (they don't have any drafts, at least not yet).
I went with a Samuel Adams Summer Ale, which, since all bottles were $1 off, cost $3.
The front windows were open and the World Cup was on the two bar TVs. It was a pleasant spot to sit and chill on a Friday evening.
Good to have you back, Oyster.
