The Triple-A Norfolk Tides were blanked by the Rochester Red Wings, and the Double-A Bowie Baysox were beaten by the Binghamton Mets. The Single-A Frederick Keys won against the Lynchburg Hillcats, and the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds fell to the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
Earlier today, the Shorebirds placed infielder Mychal Givens on the disabled list with a hand injury and added infielder Gary Helmick to their roster from the short-season Single-A Aberdeen IronBirds.
The extent of Givens' injury is not known at this time, and it's unclear how long he will be out of action. Attempts to reach Orioles staff about the injury were not returned as of this blog entry.
