Online travel site Orbitz is offering a way to get out of part of your trip if things get too bad.

It announced this week an "open beach guarantee" with participating hotels. If a beach at your destination is closed because of gobs of oil floating in the water, orbitz will give you a full refund if its a standalone reservation. The refund will be good for travel between June 14 and July 31.

The company is working to extend the deal to other Gulf Coast beach destinations beyond Florida.

Orbitz has also launched a resource center where travelers can turn to find updated information about the oil spill - http://www.orbitz.com/oil.

Anybody know of any other beach related travel guarantees related to the oil spill. Let us know.
