Zorn never thought about taking a year off

New Ravens quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn didn't have to find work immediately after being fired by the Washington Redskins. He is due roughly $2.4 million left on his contract for 2010, according to the Washington Post.

But Zorn said this week that he never considered taking a year off from coaching.

"I'm not a guy that's going to sit in a dark corner because he got fired and will get depressed," Zorn said. "I have children ranging from 30 [years old] to 15. I've got a bride of 31 years. They all expect me to get on with it. I think that's one of the things that drives me. There are expectations off the field for me from my family."

Zorn added, "I'm ready to work. I enjoy it. I enjoyed the heck out of being the head coach of the Redskins. As the years roll along here, I may get another chance but I may not. I'm going to do my best to improve these guys and try to help in any way."
