Ravens add HD to M&T Bank video boards

The Ravens have upgraded their video boards behind the end zones to high-definition screens in an attempt to enhance the fan experience at M&T Bank Stadium.

The screens will be first showcased at the NCAA lacrosse championships at the end of this month.

The hope is fans will feel like they are watching a flat-screen television, albeit one that is 100 feet wide and 24 feet in height.

"We're trying to compete with people staying at home watching high definition on big screens," team president Dick Cass said. "We're trying to keep adding these improvements. And going high-def will be a big improvement for fans."

This represents the first upgrade to the stadium screens, which had been the first-generation boards.

"I think it's going to be dramatically improvement for fans when they come in here and see the difference from previous years to 2010," said Roy Sommerhof, the Ravens' vice president of stadium operations.
