The Orioles appeared to finally get the break they needed when Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett made an errant throw to first on Cesar Izturis' sacrifice bunt in the third inning. A run scored on the play, and the Orioles still had men on second and third with the top of their order up. What happens next?

Adam Jones strikes out. Nick Markakis strikes out. Matt Wieters strikes out.

And you wonder why this team is 7-19? Or maybe you don't.

Then to compound matters, Jones goes for a diving catch on Francisco Cervelli's drive to start the bottom of the third, and he misses it. Cervelli pulls in for a triple and then scores on Ramiro Pena's groundout.

The score is tied at 1, but it's hard to have a terribly good feeling about this outcome. You simply can't let good pitchers like Burnett, and good teams like the Yankees, off the hook the way the Orioles just did.
