NFL rules say offseason minicamps are supposed to be non-contact, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh wants them to be as intense as he can make them.
"We're just going to hit the ground running," coach John Harbaugh said through the team's web site. "We'll have everybody in, throw everything at them and be as physical and fast-paced as we can make it. It's going to be part of our entire learning system."
Today marks the first of six offseason camps for the Ravens. This weekend's minicamp is the only mandatory one for the team. The final camp is a special teams one that ends on June 16.
All offseason camps are closed to the public. The Ravens will begin training camp in late July, when practices are open to fans.
"I can't wait to see the young guys, can't wait to see the vets," Harbaugh said. "It will be fun to have everybody together. I'm excited to build on our football schools.
Harbaugh added, "This is a big step in the process, but it's not the first step. We've been going at it for about seven weeks now."
