So, is the Kentucky Derby winner coming to Baltimore? If you listened to jockey Calvin Borel, there's no doubt.
"I want to win the Triple Crown," Borel said after he guided Super Saver to a relatively easy victory Saturday at Churchill Downs.
Trainer Todd Pletcher was a little more guarded after the race (he always is), saying his jockey said "we're going for the Triple Crown." While Pletcher didn't specifically say he was coming to the Preakness Stakes on May 15, it would take something unusual for Super Saver not to be going for the second leg of the Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course.
We'll hear more from Pletcher this morning after he checks on his horses. Fellow trainer Bob Baffert said he hasn't decided whether or not he'll enter his two horses, Lookin At Lucky and Conveyance, in the Preakness Stakes.
"I'm going to look them over the next couple days and think about it," Baffert said. "I'm not going to make any promises over the next few days."
We'll be updating this blog daily as we hear on horses who commit -- or don't commit -- to the Preakness.
