Talk about a change in momentum. Losing James to his injury (eventually) might end up being the best thing that could have happened for the Heroes on this season of Survivor.
I mean, look: Colby is competing again! The tribe is working together! They even solved a puzzle! It's like a whole different show!
So here's what the momentum change meant last night: The Heroes handily won reward, enjoyed the reward, didn't stress over the clue about a new hidden idol, came together again during the immunity challenge and even managed to win immunity despite the fact that the challenge ended with a puzzle.
Well, at least that's what it meant for the Heroes. For the Villains, it meant coming to terms with the fact that the tribe was completely splintered into three, for lack of a better term, camps. Russell was teamed with Parvati and Danielle, Rob with Sandra and Courtney, and floaters (and lovebirds) Coach and Jerri stuck between the two groups.
There was all sorts of posturing going on about who to vote out -- maybe Courtney since she completely botched one of the only challenges she's participated in? Maybe blindside Rob? Maybe blindside Russell?
Instead of getting rid of one of the wildly weaker players (is Sandra even playing this season? Oh right, business as usual, so far under the radar you forget she is there), the targets became Russell and Rob. Jerri and Coach wavered between the two groups, but finally sided with Russell et al.
But Coach! Poor, poor tortured Coach. He had promised Rob he would ally with him, or at least that he wouldn't vote for him.
When the votes finally came down at tribal council, Rob was out, and Coach punted, voting alone for Courtney.
All I could think of was how much damage Rob and Russell could have done had they decided to work together instead of against each other. I know, I know, all that alpha male crap. But it's annoying seeing a good player like Rob allying himself with ... Courtney? And Sandra? Sigh.
