Huuuuuge dog activity weekend. Huge.

There's just no way anyone can say there's nothing to do with the dog this weekend. If anything, there's too much!

First off there's the big daddy of them all, Maryland SPCA's March for the Animals from 10 am. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Druid Hill Park. Read more about that (and Teddy Bean's little role) here.

Then, tonight in Annapolis they're kicking off a series of happy hour events called Canines & Cocktails.  Sponsored by Paws pet boutique at Loews Annapolis Hotel, the six evenings, all from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. and each with a different theme, will raise money for various animal causes. Tonight's theme is "Love Your Dog-Love Annapolis Contest" and will raise money for the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. Those with the best answer to the question "Why do you love coming downtown Annapolis with your dog?" can win prizes, including an overnight stay at Loews Annapolis Hotel with dinner and breakfast for two.

On Saturday, it's the Columbia Association's annual Dog Day Afternoon, a big festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hopewell Park. It's free to get in and there will be all sorts of contests, people selling pet goodies, music and things for the human kids. More than 600 people attended last year. And if all that isn't enough, I've got even more ideas for things to do with your dog in the story I wrote for today's Sun.

Have fun out there!
