Fact: Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff signed his restricted free agent tender, his agent announced. It's not really big news because he eventually had to sign it. Funny, no one announced when the other 16 restricted free agents for the Ravens signed their tenders.

The only breaking news came when the agent announced Cundiff became a new dad a week ago. Congrats.

Rumor: Sports Illustrated's Peter King suggested Monday that the Dallas Cowboys should trade their second-round pick (59) to the Ravens in exchange for left tackle Jared Gaither, who would immediately replace recently released Flozell Adams.

The Cowboys were on The Sun's initial list of prospective suitors for Gaither in a blog last month.

Opinion: The Pittsburgh Steelers took a major step backward when they traded Santonio Holmes to the New York Jets. Sure, Mike Wallace is a wide receiver who flashed potential. But despite his off-the-field problems, Holmes is just getting to the prime of his career. Ask any Ravens cornerback, Holmes was the most dangerous wide receiver on the Steelers.

On the flip side, the addition of Holmes makes the Jets a top-three team in the AFC. Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery form a solid receiving tandem for quarterback Mark Sanchez.
