As part of the online coverage leading up to the NFL draft, The Sun will look at prospects who could be available for the Ravens with the 25th overall pick.
Sean Weatherspoon
Weak side or middle linebacker, Missouri
The Ravens don't have an immediate need here, but Weatherspoon could be the best player remaining on the team's board at No. 25. Weatherspoon could either be the heir apparent to Ray Lewis (who has one year left on his contract after this season) or compete with Dannell Ellerbe.
He's an intense, hard-striking linebacker with range. Scouts have mixed reviews on him because he runs his mouth. Some believe his non-stop talk could rankle some players in the locker room.
Weatherspoon is on the Ravens' radar after speaking to team officials at the NFL combine.
"Most of the 3-4 systems are saying inside because the outside backers in a 3-4 system are pretty much like freak 6-4 guys with long arms and they come off the edge and make
all those sacks and that's not my game," Weatherspoon said. "My game is coming downhill and making plays and fitting in coverage and making plays on the ball."
