As part of the online coverage leading up to the NFL draft, The Sun will look at prospects who could be available for the Ravens with the 25th overall pick.
Jermaine Gresham
Tight end, Oklahoma
He is the top tight end in this draft, according to nearly all draft experts. His athleticism and outstanding work ethic should be appealing to the Ravens. It will be interesting to see whether he falls past the New York Giants (No. 15), Cincinnati Bengals (No. 21) and New England Patriots (No. 22).
Gresham didn't play last season because he had surgery on his right knee to repair torn cartilage. It was his second knee surgery in five years.
The biggest negative on Gresham is his blocking. He wasn't dominating in this area in college and could have a tougher time in the NFL.
Still, Gresham is a playmaker when healthy. In 2008, he set school record for receiving yards (950) and touchdowns (14) by a tight end.
Asked what he wants to be as a tight end prospect, he said: "I want to be everything. I want to be a guy that, you know, the greatest player, if not one of the greats, that played it. So hopefully I can be a great blocker, great pass catcher, great route runner, everything."
