The National Association of Black Journalists selected CNN's Soledad O'Brien as its Journalist of the Year for her work on the cable channel's "In America" series. I have written several reviews of the series that explores the lives of persons of color in American today. I also did an interview with O'Brien in connection with her work.
Good for O'Brien and CNN. As I said in my reviews, this is exemplary documentary filmmaking that goes far above and beyond the talking and screaming heads that so dominate 24/7 cable TV and our national discourse these days.
