Mike Preston: The trade down was logical because the Ravens recouped some picks in a draft that is considered deep. The Ravens still have the chance to walk away with some really good players. There are still some good receivers and outstanding pass rushers remaining as well as a tight end or two.
Peter Schmuck: Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta got a chance to recover some middle-draft position from the Boldin deal and took full advantage. They''re going to have a great time with all those picks Friday and Saturday.
Ken Murray: If the goal was to get more picks, the Ravens achieved splendidly. Thanks to Denver's abundance of picks, Ozzie Newsome was able not only to recoup the third- and fourth-round picks he sent to Arizona for Anquan Boldin, but improve on them. It sets up a busy day on Friday -- they have the 43rd, 57th and 70th picks -- but it probably will be worth the wait.
Edward Lee: Somewhat surprised that the Ravens traded back with players like Devin McCourty and Jared Odrick still on the board, but the Ravens made the smart decision to get more picks for the next two days.
Ron Fritz: There is great value in the second and third rounds and the Ravens made sure they had picks to take advantage. They can plug a few holes and even look for a successor or two to some of their aging stars.
