Teddy Bean had a fantabulous time at Sunday's March for the Animals. It was his favorite kind of day -- cool, sunny and dry -- and he mixed it up, tirelessly with all sorts of new friends for hours. He could have stayed all day. He started with the march around the Druid Hill Park lake, moved on to much Saying of Hi to other pups and, of course, sniffing in the grass for dropped treats and french fries.
And, thanks to many of you, he did his small part for the cause, contributing more than $230 to the Maryland SPCA -- without which he wouldn't be in Baltimore at all.
In the big picture, taken by his buddy Lori, he's getting some love after trying to get into Lori's treat-filled goody bag. In the smaller photo that I took, he's meeting some relatives along the walkathon trail.
Here's Bean having a sip of water along the walkathon trail. Below Bean says hi to a new little friend. And then Bean getting a hug from his buddy Lori, who last summer was the first person, besides me, he ever allowed a hug.
