What's better than spending an afternoon at a winery? Spending an afternoon at a winery with your dog -- and for a good cause.
On Saturday May 1, it's the fourth annual Bark and Wine event, help by Best Friends Fur Ever Inc to support Fallston Animal Rescue Movement (FARM) animal rescue.
The party will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the Fiore Winery in Pylesville.
Pups and (mainly their people) will be able to enjoy several Fiore wines and appetizers along with music from FOG (Five Old Guys) and raffles. People can bring chairs and blankets and picnik on the lawn. There will be treats just for the dogs, too.
FARM is known for taking in the animals that can be hard to adopt. To date FARM has found homes for 8,000 animals -- relying entirely on volunteers, a foster home network and a team of veterinarians, trainers and groomers who donate their time and services. Best Friends, a dog daycare and overnight resort, is part of the foster network for the FARM, usually fostering 6 to 8 dogs at a time.
Tickets are $10 per person. For $5 dollars more, poeple can ride the bus with their dog from the Best Friends facility (seating limited) at 1009 Philadelphia Rd. in Joppa. Wine tasting is $5 additional and wine is available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
Please RSVP to Best Friends at 410-671-7529 by April 28th. Rain or Shine, tent available.
