10spot: Kinetic Sculpture Race, My Morning Jacket and more

1. Kinetic Sculpture Race
An oh-so Baltimore tradition, the American Visionary Art Museum's annual eight-hour, 15-mile race (right, photo by The Baltimore Sun) features homemade vehicles attempting to travel by land and by sea. We love any event where the top prize is the Mediocre Award, for the team that finishes in the middle of the pack. For a tentative schedule and a race map, go to kineticbaltimore.com. JORDAN BARTEL, B

2. Baltimore Farmers' Market opens
The first Sunday in May ushers in the first farmers' market of the year. And for those who want to beat the crowds, it now opens at 7 a.m.! You might see me there, but probably not that early. The market is open every Sunday through mid-December, underneath the Jones Falls Expressway by East Saratoga Street. BRIAN KRISTA, B

3. Orioles return home
The good news: The Orioles return to Camden Yards after their 10-game road trip. The bad news: They play the Yankees Tuesday through Thursday, then host the Red Sox Friday through Sunday. MATT VENSEL, B

4. Govans Great Spring Flea Market
One man's trash is another man's treasure. It's cliché, yes, but true! Govans Great Spring Flea Market will have a 50-cent room and a bargain basement. Maybe you'll find something rare and unique. And don't forget to try the chili. 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Govans Presbyterian Church. AUBREY FORNWALT, B

5. '24/7: Mayweather/Mosley' finale
HBO's insanely watchable "24/7" thrives whenever Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. is involved, and the trash-talking champion has yet to disappoint. It's the perfect way to get hyped before Saturday's fight. 10 p.m. WESLEY CASE, B

6. My Morning Jacket with Preservation Hall Jazz Band
"Treme" got you hankerin' for the Big Easy? MMJ (left, photo by AP) will add a taste of old N'awlins as their mini-tour of the Southeastern U.S. brings them to Merriweather Post Pavilion. 6:30 p.m. Saturday. $36-$45. merriweathermusic.com. ADAM SAPIRO, B

7. Gogol Bordello goodness
First, you buy the new album, Trans-Continental Hustle, on Tuesday. Then, you go see them perform at Rams Head Live! Thursday and/or Friday. Your life will be filled with so much gypsy-punk joy, you'll consider joining a tribe of vagabonds. Doors at 6:30 p.m., tickets $29. tickets.ramsheadlive.com. MARISSA GALLO, B

8. 'Super Street Fighter IV'
Take the beautifully stylized look from "Street Fighter 4," add a bunch of new fighters and mix in a host of modes and you've got a package that is just asking to wear out your arcade-style joystick! Pick it up for your Xbox 360 or PS3 Tuesday. TIM WONG, B

9. Tracy Morgan at the Lyric
Calling Tracy Morgan unpredictable is now officially redundant. We're guessing his stand-up tour is just as off-the-wall as his "30 Rock" character, who is basically just Tracy Morgan. And that's how we like him. 8 p.m. Thursday. Lyric Opera House. lyricoperahouse.com. JORDAN BARTEL, B

10. Art attack
The festival part of this University of Maryland event runs 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday on McKeldin Mall, but the real interest is in the Weezer and Ben Folds concert that evening at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Folds has quit his Chatroulette shenanigans, but it's still a show worth seeing. Doors 6 p.m. College Park. $40. ticketfly.com. ANNE TALLENT, B
