David Hernandez said this morning that he concentrated on his new two-seam fastball throughout yesterday's performance against the Rays. He got one ground ball with it, but admits it's a work in progress.

"I can't see the movement, but I've been told that it has more sinking action,'' he said. "I felt like I was able to keep it down and had pretty good command."

Nolan Reimold, who was held out of yesterday's opener to give him a few more days to rehab his repaired heel, will start on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland. Troy Patton, who pitched in the intrasquad, has not been officially scheduled, but he also could make his exhibition debut Saturday.

Brad Bergesen's target date for his first outing of the spring is Wednesday. He's been throwing every other day, but will get two days between his last side session and his first game.
