O's: Dave unplugged

Dave Trembley obviously is anxious to get the exhibition season underway, and made that pretty clear during his news briefing earlier this afternoon.

"Everybody is anxious to get the spring training games underway,'' he said. "We've had some good practices. I'm glad we got the work in today. I wasn't so sure when I woke up real early this morning and it was raining and pretty windy. But the fields were good, we got it in. It will be great to get it going, just another part of the spring, another phase. Some games, some trips, get an opportunity to bear down on some pitching and give everybody an opportunity."

He was asked if there was anybody, in particular, he was eager to see in the early game action:

"All of them. I'm not going to single anybody out because then, I would be showing my cards. So I'm just going to say that I'm anxious to see everybody in game action and we'll go from there."

And he explained his thought process when it comes to how much the regulars will play in the opener and during the early games of the season:

"They will probably play five innings tomorrow. The starting lineup will probably play five innings. We'll see what we get. I don't think it would be more than two at-bats...I've written my lineups out and I've talked to guys accordingly. I would say that I'll do the best I can of staying away from the regulars on back-to-back games for the first week. It might change after that. I don't think it will be the same for all the regulars."
